Performance artist Marina Abramović was in residence at the Clarke Center along with science fiction author Kim Stanley Robinson, collaborating with Clarke Center researchers to produce multiple works. A workshop including UC San Diego faculty and graduate students and the general public, produced - 1) an installation at the University Art Gallery which was a prototype for an exhibit at the Venice Biennale, 2) a theatrical podcast production from Kim Stanley Robinson’s new novel “Aurora”, and 3) a video by the Clarke Center which intermixes the text of the Robinson story with the activities of the workshop to show how journeys of inner and outer space serve as analogies of each other.
